When canceling a Flat Bill agreement before the end of the first 12 months, we execute a true-up process. This means if you’ve paid us more than what you’ve used, we’ll reconcile the difference and refund you, and vice-versa. In addition, you will be charged the pro-rated retail price of the thermostat, e.g. if you cancel after nine months (75% of your contract), you will need to pay 25% of the current retail cost of the Simple thermostat.
Note that the true-up is only done if you wish to cancel in the middle of the agreement, and the pro-rated thermostat charge is only incurred if you cancel within your first year.
